Checkers

While on our vacation to Utah Korey taught Jarom how to play checkers. Now they play nearly every night.... he has even taught him chess. Jarom is becoming a pro at the checkers. They have so much fun playing together.

SO CUTE!

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Oh what a day!

Found out this morning that the pink eye that was going around Elijah's class.... well he now has it...... Tonight Jarom slipped on the floor in the bathroom and gashed the inside of his mouth open at least an inch or more... looks like he cracked a tooth and loosened 2 (not like the dentist didn't just help him remove 5 baby teeth......) Deep breath...

- Update -
I awake (well wouldn't even describe my being up w/ Elijah for nearly 2 hours last night...)
to Jarom okay...side of face gums to swollen to eat... after trying yogurt he couldn't do we opted to make a smoothie... not sure what he will do about lunch at school..... he says pain wise he is fine to go BUT (he is the embarrassed type) and is too fearful that someone my notice his mouth lips cheeks are swollen....

Do you like Peas?

Questions kids ask

So Jarom totally out of the blue this morning asks me.... Mom was it a lot harder for you to take care of yourself before you had kids. WHAT I SAY - WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT LOL Mom was it harder for you to do things for yourself and around the house you know before I was born and you had any babies... when it was just you and dad? Oh man I laughed!

Family!

Can you believe we get up and are out the door to be at church at 7:30AM on Sundays?

Sariah 6 months old

What a cutie! 6 months old! She survived shots... She is now 15 pounds and 7 ounces and 26 1/2 inches long - Her weight puts her in the 25% and he height is 75% - So long and lean! She is definitely our joy... but what a change for us to be dealing with a girl and her issues (heck she is already using estrogen). Sariah does have 2 teeth now...

Santa forgot one of my presents!

Santa must have forgot where we were... When I arrived home Saturday I quickly discovered he had left me my biggest present of all on my door step. A very nice new camera! Canon 40D.... so if anyone lives near me will let me test it out on your kiddos let me know... I really have a love for photography.... ( my husband definitely realized it......)

For those that may understand...

Came home to find out that my already busy husband will be even busier... Sunday he was put into the EQ presidency at church... but thankfully he has agreed to still co-teach the SS class 12-13 year olds with me

Time to return home ...

Time to blog.... I had kept a myspace page up http://www.myspace.com/laurarichins but I think it is time for something new...
We just returned from 2 weeks in cold Utah... (upon arriving closer to home we gave in and turned on the AC). Our trip to see family was filled with lots of joy in seeing our loved ones. The boys really enjoyed their Christmas and so did Sariah. While in Utah we all had dental appointment's.... the dentist gave Jarom a hand in wiggling out 5 loose baby teeth so he now has quite a smile. Elijah was ready for new glasses so we decided a visit to the pediatric optometrist would be best first... to find out that he now needs to do what his dad did as a child and cover one eye for a while to help the other eye get stronger (I personally don't like the technical term for it). Sariah got her first tooth on our drive home. She is now 6 months old... The boys enjoyed playing with their cousins in Utah and their aunts and uncles. We even got a generational picture with Sariah and Korey's grandma who will turn 90 this year. Weird but true our drive home was the best part of our trip we did some fun site seeing and really enjoyed each others company.... I truly treasure my wonderful husband 2 boys and our princess. We are all thrilled to be back home and just thoroughly enjoying each other.
